On Friday the 25th, we held our first #genchat, and it was awesome. Afterwards, I completed a summary of the tweets on Storify. Here's a taste...
The first ever genealogy Twitter Chat - known as #genchat - will be held tomorrow evening, Friday 25 Jan 2013 at 9pm CST.
All interested are welcome to join us, and participate in the discussion, based on "Starting Your 2013 Research in the Right Way." We'll be talking about how you research, what you might find in a research plan, different tactics to get around those tough problems and much more.
New to Twitter Chat's? No problem. Think of this as an online cocktail party. We chat, we ask questions, we get to know each other, we have fun, and hopefully, we will all walk away having learned a little something.
You can see the "official" information about #GENCHAT on this site, along with the entire 2013 schedule and download badges to share your collaboration effort from your own site or blog! Check it all out under the "Online Programs" tab.
The speaker's list for the 2013 Genealogy Jamboree, hosted by the Southern California Genealogy Society, were announced late on 9 Jan 2013. Follow this link to read the announcement.
By now, most of you are probably aware of the new collaboration and learning project that has been announced: #GENCHAT. This is a bi-monthly Twitter Chat that will begin on January 25, 2013, and will be hosted by Stephanie Pitcher Fishman, Terri O'Connell, and myself.
Obviously, we're pretty excited.
The official schedule has been posted on the Conference Keeper website exclusively, and we have planned out the entire year.
We're ready to talk genealogy! Care to join us? We hope so. You can also add a badge to your website or blog, helping us spread the word about this new opportunity to share information, learn tips and ask questions from a wide variety of people involved in family history. Everybody is welcome!
