Are you a genealogist/family historian who wants to learn more -- we all do.  Here's a great opportunity to receive a scholarship to one of the premier institutes in the country.  Each year the Colorado Council of Genealogical Societies awards a tuition scholarship to Samford University Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research (IGHR) in honor of Birdie Monk Holsclaw.

Several CGS members who have attended IGHR have said that the classes, instructors, and experiences are wonderful.

Application is open to all genealogists and consists of a short resume listing genealogical experience and a 150-200 word essay describing how IGHR will help advance their genealogical research skills.  Deadline for Applications is October 1 each year. Please see
http://www.cocouncil.org/documents/BirdieIGHR.pdf for more information on the scholarship and how to apply.

Also, see http://www4.samford.edu/schools/ighr/ for information on IGHR.

Have a great week.

Sandy Ronayne

CGS president
